I am delighted to announce that the very first Model United Nations Conference with regional scope held by the III High School and Youth City Council will be organized in Opole in 2012! It is my great pleasure to invite and inform you, that from now on you are able to register for the MUN and step into the shoes of a real United Nation’s delegate. Our Conference will be held in City Hall as well as in High School nr III. We will be debating on the current Mexican and Haitian problems. During the conference you will not only have the opportunity to discover work of United Nations Delegates, but also uncover Opole’s most beautiful places and monuments. After choosing your council you will be resolving one of the current world’s most important issues. Under careful supervision of chairs of Security Council, Human Rights Council, United Nations Development Programme, Economic and Social Council and World Health Organization you will need to present a wide-range knowledge about the conflict and the policy of your country. By stating your mind clearly and giving voice to what others may feel but cannot or will not say you will give birth to new just ideas. Your task will be to distinguish yourself from the crowd as a creative problem-solver and show that you handle responsibility well. I strongly believe that taking part in this conference will be a very challenging and unforgettable experience, which will definitely provide you with some valuable skills. Additionally, SilMUN is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and meet new people. Remember that even though the problems you will be dealing with are serious the aim of the conference is also to have fun.
